Charles R. Smith Jr., author of the new children's book "Major Taylor: World Cycling Champion," discussed his work with viewers across the country on a Zoom visit Jan. 23, 2024. The virtual visit was presented by the Major Taylor Association and Candlewick Press in conjunction with book giveaways by our Associated Clubs in cities from coast to coast, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.  Among those donating copies of the book to local schools, libraries and youth programs: Bay Rollers Cycling Club (Mississippi), Seven Hills Wheelmen (Worcester), Bronzeville Trail Task Force (Chicago), Major Taylor Trail Keepers (Chicago), Major Taylor Cycling Club of Los Angeles, Major Taylor Cycling Club of New Jersey, Major Taylor Iron Riders (New York City), and Montgomery Bicycle Club (Alabama).
