Black History Month

Communities across the country feature Major Taylor in celebrating Black History Month. For example, a mural depicting Major Taylor and other Indiana transportation trailblazers and milestones was installed Feb. 23 at Indianapolis International Airport. At right, artist Marcus Akinlana next to the mural.

The Major Taylor Association offers posters and a free downloadable curriculum guide to black history educators.
