by Marlene Targ Brill  Marlene Targ Brill of Wilmette, Ill., author of the young readers' biography "Marshall ‘Major’ Taylor, World Champion Bicyclist" (Lerner Publishing, September 2007), presented a slide show and explained the research and writing process for the book, which is geared to young readers (ages 10-15, Grades 5-9), and signed copies of the book. Copies of the book were supplied to Worcester public schools, and the author also gave presentations to sixth-graders at Elm Park Community School and Chandler Elementary School. This event was supported by the Greater Worcester Community Foundation and by AdventureCORPS. Sales of books and posters benefited the Major Taylor Association.
