See how fast you can pedal up George Street, a two-block quad-buster that was a training ground for 1899 world champion Major Taylor. It's one rider at a time against the clock in this steep uphill time trial in downtown Worcester, presented by Barney's Bicycle and the Seven Hills Wheelmen.
The distance is 500 feet, and the average grade is 18 percent. The contest is open to riders age 12 and up. Helmets are required. Proceeds benefit the Major Taylor Association, Inc.
BIKE RAFFLE!
We raffled off a Giant Talon 4 mountain bike from Barney's Bicycle, plus other cool stuff. Tickets were $5, or three for $12, or six for $20. Prize drawing was July 24 at George Street. Proceeds benefit the Major Taylor Association. Click here to see the complete list of prizes and winners.

Bike 105 miles round trip from Winchester (or join the ride in Ashland), possibly arriving in Worcester in time to watch some of the time trial, as well as see the Major Taylor statue and visit the Major Taylor Museum. The museum will have a special gift for visitors that afternoon.
