 The Major Taylor Cycling Club of Central Indiana, a program of Bike Indianapolis, hosted a national gathering of Major Taylor clubs on Juneteenth weekend, June 17-19, 2022, featuring a metric century, half century, and half metric on Saturday, as well as other rides on Friday and Sunday. More than 500 cyclists participated. Other weekend options during the Major Taylor Invitational included a visit to the Major Taylor Velodrome and a private reception at the Indiana State Museum's Major Taylor exhibit, which is on view through Oct. 23, 2022. The founders of the Major Taylor Cycling Club of Columbus, Ohio, established in 1979, received recognition from the Major Taylor International Cycling Alliance for their vision and leadership.
