"The Major Rides Again"

Hundreds of people joined the SJT Global Arts Initiative from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at 1st & Marshall streets in Richmond, Va., for the dedication of a Major Taylor mural. Artist James Thornhill created this depiction of the 1899 world champion in Richmond's historic Jackson Ward just in time for Richmond 2015, the UCI Road World Cycling Championships. Top cyclists from some 70 countries competed in the world championship races Sept. 19-27 in Richmond.
